“Casa da Olga provided the ideal base for visiting the Lisbon coast and Sintra. The area, protected by the national park, is both beautiful and full of historic attractions, don’t miss the palace and gardens in Sintra and Monserrate. The tram is a novel, cheap and interesting way to get to Sintra (Friday and weekends only) and avoids parking problems. The buses are equally convenient but not such fun. The area is well served for restaurants within walking distance of the villas, Adega das Azenhas was outstanding. We appreciated the warm welcome from Ana and Ralph and the friendliness of all the local people with whom we came into contact. Thank you”

“A very simple but trendy 1 bedroom cottage situated in a very intimate and tranquil village of Praia das Macãs. It offers everything that you need and I cannot stress how friendly and helpful Ralph and Ana were. They picked us up from the airport to the cottage and welcomed us with a basket of basic local food. When it was time to leave 🙁 they gave us a ride to Lisbon City Centre for the second half of our holidays.
They were always on hand to provide helpful advice on where to go and what to do. The cottage and surroundings were impressive and the owners definitely played their part to ensure that we had a wonderful holiday.
Our typical day was to travel to nearby towns such as Sintra (using the historical tram if available!), spend the day sightseeing (advice given by Ralph and Ana on what to see and do), back to the cottage late afternoon but visiting the local butcher first to get the best meat we’ve tasted to be used on the giant BBQ the cottage offers. After that (and a few beers and glasses of wine!) we ventured late in night to the village which has a trendy cider bar, cocktail bar, and restaurant bars. If the temperature is good, we would walk along the tranquil seashore at early hours in the morning for a romantic ending to an eventful day.
For a seaside village, Praia de Macãs has everything you need. It is a place which is far enough from urban settlements to be quiet but close and accessible enough to commute to the livelier towns.
Since my stay at Casa da Olga, I have been recommending pretty much everyone to stay there. Don’t miss the experience and contact Ralph and I finish with the words I started with, “We have no doubt in stating that we experienced the best cottage holiday following a stay at Casa da Olga.” (If you don’t believe me, here are a few photos of us on holidays!).”

“We stayed at Casa da Olga in September 2008 and what a wonderful time to go with perfect weather and what a beautiful place! The cottage itself was immaculate with everything you needed for your stay. The quality of the bed linen, towels etc is that easily of a high starred hotel and rarely found in self-catering accommodation and the kitchen facilities served every need.
Praia das Macas is a lovely village with a superb and clean beach which is clearly very safe for children. There are a good range of places to eat out and an icecream bar that must be visited for its delicious homemade icecream. The cottages are ideally situated for access into the neighbouring town of Sintra which boasts many interesting sites for all generations and Lisbon is only a short train journey away (and only 3 euros 50 for a return!) with. We will definitely be returning to Lisbon Coast Cottages next year if we can! Thank you very much Ralph and Ana!!!”

I do not understand the term ‘custom’ but our stay was superb. Your accommodations and service were wonderful.
As to pictures, in the town we visited after we left Sintra, I lost my digital camera!!! Zounds!!
We bought disposable cameras after that so have pic’s of the rest of our trip but nothing of Lisbon and Sintra. Did I say Zounds!!?
You do a great job of making tourists feel comfortable.

It was great being collected from the airport by Ralph who gave us all the information we needed to find our way around. We enjoyed our days out in Sintra and Lisbon using buses and trains. Whether it was exploring the underground passages of the Quinta da Regaleria by torchlight, enjoying the stunning views from the Castelo dos Mouros, the extraordinary architecture of Sintra, standing on the most westerly point of mainland Europe at Cabo da Roca or simply sipping ice-cold drinks on the beach at Praia das Maçãs.
