Originally opening in 1904 the historic electric tram runs between Sintra and Praia das Maçãs.
It runs every day all year round, almost once per hour in each direction with a break at lunchtime.
(reduced service in winter)
But less frequently during the winter, spring and autumn.
The journey costs five euros (2.50 euro for senior citizens & children between 6 & 18 ) and Children under 6 go for free if they do not occupy a seat of their own.
Journey takes approximately 40 minutes and you will be able to admire some of the most beautiful views of the Serra and the local villages along this journey.
