Our cottages and villas are located in Praia das Maçãs, all just a short walk to the beach and village centre with its restaurants, bars and shops.

There is an array of excellent local restaurants that cater to all tastes.

We do recommend the seafood restaurant ‘O Búzio’, just facing the beach on the main road.

‘Maçãs Club’ has got an outdoors sitting area with the best views of the beach.

Right by the beach entrance is ‘Neptuno’, also specialising in local fresh fish and seafood.

Try out ‘Hamburgueria do Maçãs’, for some delicious hand made burgers and your fix of national and international gins.

Or, if pizza is what rocks your world, you will find ‘Don Mangiare’ also in the village centre. Freshly prepared to order, eat in or take away.

If you fancy cooking or having a BBQ, you must try the local butcher, the ‘Talho do Mário’, where you can purchase prime quality meat.

On the main road you’ll also find the village market, open tue-sun from 8am to 2pm. You can buy local fruit and vegetables here or fresh fish from the exuberant fishmongers and experience a little bit of Portuguese-style loud friendliness.

Across the road from the market is the seawater lido, which features a children’s pool next to its Olympic sized main pool with diving boards and a slide. Admission tickets are available for half or full day. Here you can also rent one of the tennis courts with sea views.

Just before you reach the swimming pool you will find the post office and the village’s cash machine next to the ‘Pão com chouriço’ (bread rolls filled with chouriço sausage, cooked in a wood fired oven) outlet.

The chemist in the village centre is open every day from 10am to 9pm. They also receive emergency night calls for a fee.
