Casa da Olga – Review 40

“Had a great week in Casa da Olga – Lovely relaxed atmosphere around the village. You were right – there are no bad restaurants!
We know because we tried them all. (best meal: fish stew for 2 in Oceano!)
Had a great cycle trip to Cascais – home via Convent Capuchos in the Sintra hills – Tough cycle but well worth it.
Cottage was a just perfect for two and we would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet break away from it all.”

“We have had a great time in Casa da Olga and Praia das Macas. The cottage is lovely with a nice backyard. Since we like to cook food the fully equipped kitchen was very handy.

Casa da Olga – Review 38

“This was our second time staying at Casa da Olga and just like our first holiday here, we had yet another lovely break!
Our little girl, Ellen loved every minute of her holiday and we delighted in watching her explore new things and learn how to say “ola” and “obrigada” to the locals. We thoughley enjoyed relaxing on the beach, playing with Ellen in “the river” walking along the cliff top to Praia Pequena, taking the tram to Sintra, exploring the caves / tunnels at Regaleira, visiting Lisbon and just chilling out here in Casa da Olga over a BBQ and glass of wine ! Thank you so much to Ralph for his good humour kindness and help. You are a real gentleman. we hope to return again soon and perhaps round up some of our Irish family & friends to come back with us. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.”

Casa da Olga – Review 37

“Had the most relaxing and soothing time over our 10 days here in Casa da Olga. Everything was easily accessible from the cottage – Mini Markets with fresh produce, late night bar, CIDRA, a beach down the hill surrounded with restaurants serving delicious fresh fish.
Couldn’t have stayed anywhere better & it was all we needed and more.
Big thanks to Ralph for always being helpful when we needed info. You dog is gourgous and we want one just the same !!
Any of our friends that may decide to come to the coast, we will be sending them your way.”

Casa da Olga – Review 36

“Had a really chilled out 9 days.
Lisbon, with guided bus tour, first trip to Sintra with Maria in her 4×4, really useful to get our bearings for 1st time. Used the 441 bus into Sintra a few times, loved Quinta Regaleira & the gardens. Also visited the park & Palace of Pena and walked to Monserrate. Colares by tram then uphill all the way, took approx 1 hour, resulted in really achy legs but a great sense of achievment.
Nautilus – great fish & banana dish, young waiter spoke excellent english so was useful to find out more about the area.
Next to Buzio served really cheap large latte type coffee and great ice creams.
Loved the coffee and slept well every night after lots of walking. Had all we needed & thank you Ralph for all your help.
Walked to the market (past PO) for really good fruit and bits but used the shop nearby mainly. Sadly only one day left, and great pedicure from the sala round the corner!”

Casa da Olga – Review 33

“Ralph, Casa da Olga is definitely an ideal spot to unwind . We have spent 11 days & nights the local and not so local heritage.
Our walks to and from Cabo da Rosa (boots, water + Camera) Praia de Magoito + several times to Praia Grande were well worth the effort. As was Sintra and Lisbon.
We tried all the restaurants (we made Bar Macas our local!) Nautilus was super. it’s like going to your granny’s for dinner (a very good dinner at that)
We are totally chilled after our stay.
Thanks for all your advise + scribbling!”

“Dear Ralph & Ana,
Our four day in Casa da Olga was pure bliss! We spent most of our time on the beach and taking long naps.
Sintra was a great trip and our meals at the Nautilus was always a hoot, with Luis making us laugh out loud.
We hope to come back one day as this was one of our best holidays thus far.
Thank you for being very kind and Welcoming.”

Casal de Santa Maria - Review 45
Casal de Santa Maria – Review 45

“We arrived from South Wales and Scotland
In a hire car, a taxi and van,
To allocate rooms
And dive in the pool
Was the total extent of our plan.

From the terrace we soaked in the view
And a sky of a luminous blue,
The soft sun was setting
Da yawn, we were getting
A whole week with nothing to do!

Dissent in the ranks! and dismay!
The kids want to enjoy their first day,
But it’s tram up to Sintra
Too hot !! Back in the villa,
Relax with a bottle of rose.

That sea! We just had to surf it.
Well at 16 euros it was worth it.
You have got to be brave
To be dumped in the waves
But the aches… do you think we deserved it ?

The kids made a momentious decision,
To design a sports competition,
There was ping-pong and boules,
Events in the pool
And for grown ups, nice chairs to sit on.

A fab week on a beautiful coast
Can’t decide what we enjoyed the most.
The pool of the peace?
Wi-fi or the beach?
Thank you Ralph, you’ve been a great host.
——-
House is homely, Pool is perfect, Waves come crashing, Scenerys smashing.
Must visit Sintra and Praia Pequena, Go surfing with Pedro
So glad we came here !”
