Just a quick note to thank you

“Just a quick note to thank you for enhancing our holiday experience. This was the first time that we have booked a self catering cottage where the owner has given time to provide recommedations regarding sights to see and places to eat and, indeed, so much more. It meant that we were able to make the most of our time without the hit or miss element. We truly enjoyed our experience with Lisbon Coast Cottages and have already recommended you to friends and colleagues. Although we saw some memorable sights we know that we only scratched the surface of what the Sintra area has to offer. So we will be back. Thanks once more to Ralph for his kind attention – it was “bonkers” (to steal an expression!).”

Thanks for wonderful days in your house

Casal de Santa Maria – review 07

“Thanks for wonderful days in your house. Ten crazy Norwegians have lived here in connection with the Motor GP race in Estoril. We had good days at the pool and enjoy us in the house at night.
We also have taken trips to Cascais and Lisboa. We rent a car to travel around, and we took the old train to Sintra. The seafood tasted well, and people are nice. We also have taken bath in the Atlantic. We are Vikings from the west coast of Norway you know.”

Your advice (…) was first class

“Thank you again for helping to make our short stay very relaxing and worthwhile. We will be back and have the opportunity to explore the delights of Sintra in more detail but more importantly take in the village atmosphere and the beach. We appreciated your personal attention and care especially in collecting us from Estoril and return to the airport, all on time and no fuss. Your advice about local places to go and eat was first class.”

“Ralph, a short note of thanks and appreciation for yours and Stuart’s generous assistance at this testing time. Your inputs, assistance and offer of participation in the long haul solution was greatly appreciated. As a small token of thanks please treat Ana and yourself to a meal and a glass or two on us. Best wishes”

Casal de Santa Maria – Review 11

“The 11 members of the extended Clark family have had a wonderful week at the villa. The pool area is lovely and the website photos do not do it justice. Everything was very comfortable and we all appreciated the media facilities. We would recommend it to any similar group. Thank you.”

“When are we going back to Portugal?”

“Thank you so much for your hospitality, we all had a lovely time, specially Nicholas who now kept asking “When are we going back to Portugal?” The food and wine were absolutely lovely (and so cheap!!!) we were really spoilt! The cottage is perfect and the barbeques we had in the garden were just fantastic! There’s just so much to do around there, next time we’ll have to stay for two weeks!”

The cottage was just as we imagined

“The cottage was just as we imagined and just as described on the web site. Very clean and comfortable and in an ideal position for the beach, restaurants and local shop. The garden was perfect for lazy breakfasts, lunches and barbeques. It was great to have lots of tips from Ralph of where to eat, what to visit in Sintra and how to get to places. All of his advice worked out really well. When visiting palaces etc in Sintra it pays to be early if you want to park .Lisbon was amazing and really easy to get to on the train – we went twice in order to fit in everything we wanted to do – remember to buy a special travel ticket to get the most out of the trams and metro for longer journeys e.g. to Belém.
Many thanks Ralph for taking the time to explain the area to us and for recommending the restaurants – don’t think I will have too much fish for a while!”

A big OBRIGADO

From either centre you are in easy range of swimming, surf, restaurants, walks, castles, museums or the Capital.

Andrew, Debbie, Jack and Freddie, England, UK – August 2010 – Vila Arcos & Casa do Limoeiro

“A brief note to tell you how much we enjoyed our (nearly) three weeks in the two properties – Vila Arcos and Casa do Limoeiro.

We (Dad, mum and our two adult sons) were keen to have a break “living” in a place for a while. Making this a two centre holiday was particularly good as the rest of the family are more beach bums and I’m a culture vulture. So half of the holiday at Praia das Maçãs and half in Sintra worked well within the context of the national park.

We had the use of a hire car so popping from Macas to Lisbon or from Sintra to Cascais was very easy. From either centre you are in easy range of swimming, surf, restaurants, walks, castles, museums or the Capital. We would thoroughly recommend the Museum of the Fado and the Market of Thieves in Lisbon and – as you promised – the Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra.

As you know I am an artist so oddly I spent most of my time collecting photographs of Washing and Graffiti. Otherwise we are keen self-caterers and used the hobs and barbecues most days though the best food of the holiday was at the Adega do Saraiva restaurant in Nafarros recommended by you. In Cascais we enjoyed a remarkable lunch in a working man’s café called Pérola de Cascais in Rua Afonso Sanches.

Everywhere we found the Portuguese helpful and friendly. I was amazed that, on my return, I had lost a few pounds despite all those pasteis de nata. Also the cost of living was cheaper than we thought it would be compared with London which was a bit of an added bonus.

A big OBRIGADO for all your personal help and attention. Andrew, Debbie, Jack and Freddie”
