“We had a lovely stay”

“We spent the last 5 days of our honeymoon here – enough time to allow us to fall in love with Portugal. Visited Sintra on the squeaky tram & spent the night at a Quinta (see the Portugal lonely planet for more details). the food here is fantastic ! Enjoyed a shellfish feast at Buzio – barnacles, whelks, oysters, crawfish, crawfish,octopus salad,crab,rocklobster,& tiger shrimp, 3 bottles of Vino Verde & Desert with port. Four of our favourite hours here ! Adding to Portugals poetic history I’m leaving you a copy of my book for the villa across library. Be inspired & enjoy – and don’t let the western wind blow you away”

Perfect for an end of winter escape from the UK. Great recommendations for places to eat – We’ve eaten all sorts of lovely food during the week + the local wines are lovely too.

Praia das Macas is a magical little spot. Lots to do in the area. Really friendly people, lots of restaurants nearby + of course great weather (although living in Ireland, our standards are low when it comes to the weather!)

“Dear Ralph and Ana, we have spent a excellent week holiday at the Arcos villa. Well equipped, the house offers all the advantages of comfort to practicality.

If you want to visit Sintra, don’t miss out of the De Pena Castle. Plan to get there before opening time by 9.30am so that you have access to car parks that are the nearest to the castle.

Strongly recommend ‘The Nautilus’ – particularly the mixed fish for two. Great days out to Lisbon and Sintra. But beach best of all ! We’ll be back…”
