       Fantastic and well-equipped house with a short distance to the beach, shopping and good restaurants. Ralph is a super host who made sure that all aspects around the house ran smoothly. A clear recommendation from us.

     We celebrated a big family birthday with 12 of us. had a great stay at Casal de Santa Maria in Praia das Maçãs. Ralph is a great host- super responsive and ready to recommend places to eat. He even recommended a chef for us to have a special celebration at home (hugely recommend Francisco and Pipa too!) The kitchen is very well equiped. There are restaurants and small supermarkets walking distance. the house was a bit cold to start with (was a week of really bad weather) but once the heating was on it was toasty. From our bed we could see the crashing waves which was lovely. Easy to get to Sintra and from there to Lisbon. the drive requires some clever driving skills but once you've got it its easy enough

     All nine of us thouroughly enjoyed stayng at the villa. Great location with the beach (and surfing waves) within a 5 minute walk, high-quality restaurants (Ralph was very helpful) and a villa with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Clean and very well equipped for two families.

     Great villa in a fantastic situation. Very comfortable villa, with everything you could possibly need. There are some great restaurants in walking distance and wonderful places to visit like Sintra. Highly recommended!

     An absolutely lovely villa in a fantastic location. We had a superb family holiday. Ralph was a great host, easy communication and really helpful info to help us make the most of our stay. Lots of things to do in the area and some lovely restaurants to try as well. We made great use of the pool and the local beaches were excellent. The villa has lots of space and everything you need to have a great stay. We’d love to go back. Highly recommended

     La maison est parfaite pour des vacances en famille ou entre amis. Elle est très bien équipée, propre et très bien située. Excellente communication avant l’arrivée et pendant le séjour. C’est une très bonne adresse.

     We were a large party of adults (couples), the Villa, andlocation suited us perfectly for our needs, in our late fiftys, so resort perfect.not much to say as it ticked all our boxes, and we really had a great time

     Vi var 11 voksne og en baby i huset, og alle opplevde at de hadde nok rom «for seg selv» og fellesarealer! Kjempefint svømmebasseng og veldig fine omgivelser. Du kan egentlig bo her uten bil også, det går en trikk rett utenfor døren til Sintra, og bilkjøring inn mot Lisboa er ikke anbefalt, så vi kjørte bare leiebilen inn til Sintra og tok toget derfra. Super beliggenhet med restauranter og butikker like ved! Stranda 5 minutter unna. Rett og slett helt supert - og Ralph var en god og vennlig vert som hjalp oss med det neste! Anbefaler dette stedet på det varmeste!

      Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Het is een mooi groot huiset dito tuin. Zowel binnen als buiten veel plekken om te zijn. Heerlijk zwembad met ligstoelen en meerdere zon- en schaduwplekken. Ralph, de eigenaar, geeft goede tips voor de omgeving, is erg behulpzaam en aardig. Het huis is goed schoon, heeft goede bedden, een grote keuken met veel voorzieningen en het ligt in een prachtige omgeving. Er zijn meerdere sport- en spel mogelijkheden voor binnen en buiten. Sintra is 20 minuutjes rijden en Lissabon 3 kwartier, afhankelijk waar je in Lissabon wilt zijn. Makkelijke en goede wegen. Er zitten kleine en grotere supermarkten in de buurt, goede restaurants en ook bezorgdiensten. Beslist een aanrader!

Auch wenn das Wetter über die Osterfeiertage wirklich nicht sehr gut war, es hat tatsächlich viel geregnet hatten wir trotzdem eine sehr gute Zeit in Colares. Die Wohnung war dafür sehr gut ausgestattet und sauber. Ralph ist ein super Gastgeber, freundlich und entgegen kommend mit guten Tipps für die Umgebung. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Auf jeden Fall kann ich Lisbon Coast cottages weiter empfehlen.

    Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just returned from a fabulous one week stay at Quinta Sinfonia. The place is simply amazing. The house works well for 2 families, providing fantastic entertainment (swimming pool, pool table, boules, badminton, table tennis and foosball table).... Cooking options are great too, from standard kitchen to pizza oven and bbq. The location is a set back and private yet only a 10 minute walk to the centre which is well stocked with restaurants, bars and shops to cater for all needs. Travelling to Lisbon for a day via taxi and train from Sintra was very easy. Ralph is very helpful, no question is too small or daft, thanks Ralph. A great holiday in a great place and fabulous setting.

What a fabulous stay, the house is fantastic, so well equipped and clean.  We are a family of 6 adults and 4 children, 3 generations and everyone had a great time.  The pool and games room were a bonus, lots of fun.  Ralph provided lots of information  and restaurants and local market so handy.  Locals are so kind and friendly.  Happy to return.

Ralph was a great host and we loved his local recommendations - you absolutely must eat at Nortada if you visit! The cottages are equipped with all the basics and even some extras we weren’t expecting like a Bluetooth speaker. The cottage was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, and is located in a very quiet and walkable area with shopping, restaurants, and the beach just minutes away. Local transit is inexpensive and can get you to Sintra to see all the attractions. There is lots of both leisure and adventure to explore and could not have asked for a more ideal accommodation in the area.

Likevel gir nok leiebil deg litt mer fleksibilitet. Super beliggenhet med restauranter og butikker like ved! Stranda 5 minutter unna. Rett og slett helt supert - og Ralph var en god og vennlig vert som hjalp oss med alt vi trengte! Anbefaler dette stedet på det varmeste!

His assistant Tiffany met us at check in and she was very personable and offered tremendous tips for the area, it was a seamless check in. As for the house it was spotless and the kitchen had everything you need for cooking. I would definitely rent from Ralph again. And did I mention the beach (beautiful), restaurants & store were a short 10 min walk away.

Just got home from an amazing Holiday @ Casual de Santa Maria,  Met up with for a family reunion, 10 of in this house, with children ranging from 3-20 yrs old, Ralph was fantastic, very thorough and offered many tips and attractions for us in the area, the location is PERFECT! Walk to the beach , town, restaurants, local farmers market, butcher and small supermarkets are all within walking distance, even had playgrounds in the area for the kids,The  views off the deck were beautiful, spent many nights grilling up fresh fish and eating outside at the table drinking wine and listening to the waves hit the beach. Definitely an experience I will never forget! Thank you again Ralph and all of your staff for making this a memorable stay!

“200 meters along road to Praia is highley recommended, and excellent restaurant!
We had a lovely week at the vill. Beautiful house with a great pool. Everything was provided!
A wonderful and relaxing place to get away from it all, we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to unwind. The whole area complemented.
By the fascination for local history – fairy tale castles and palaces. We were impressed with all the beautiful restaurants with their variety of fish.
We will be back soon.

Now we were a party of ten
From the Welsh village called Llawhaden
and though the weather was sometimes dull, we all loved Portugal
So much so that we might come again.

The tram into Sintra was brill
as was the Mouros castle on the hill
Pena Palace and Monserrate
Were so enjoyable that’s a fact
But Quinta da Regaleira was the top of our bill

In Lisbon there was so much to do
Unachievable in just a day or two
With ancient monuments galore
Modern shops and fancy stores
And a lift with an incredible view

Praia das Macas (Apple Beach) is so sweet
With restaurants that are a real treat
A villa which met everyone’s need
We certainley all agreed
This vacation will be hard to beat !”

“Thanks for a great stay in beautiful sunny Portugal, Alfie (3) loved the pool, Myrtle (2) enjoyed sleeping in the shade.
Mum & dad recommend the Vino Verde, fish from local market + cycling in the hills.
Fun times had by all, dishwasher tablets etc etc a welcome touch (we left you salt and pepper by way of food karma)
Loved having the pool, though kids also enjoyed Sintra Sol for a bit of slide action. Tram was fun, Sintra a good day out.
Sun everyday was a bonus, we have thoroughley enjoyed ourselves.
Now we just have to teach the kids to sleep beyond 6am…”

“Dear Ralph, Thanks for everything we had a fantastic time! We had a wonderful reunion here at the villa (15 people plus 4 friends who were staying elsewhere in the village) – The facilities could not of been better !!
As keen self-caterers, we enjoyed many delicious meals out on the terrace, though we did have a great farewell dinner at Barmacia on our last night (thanks to Ralph for the recommendation) Our favourite beach was Praia Pequana (about a 20-25 minute walk across the headland) – great surf and some tidal pools for the little ones to explore.
The hike to Cabo da Roca is well worth the effort – the views are tremendous! Thanks also to Ralph for all the biking advice and tours!
Of course Sintra is not to be missed, with it’s fairy tail castles and amazing views.
All in all, a wonderful villa in a lovely village – can’t recommend it highly enough!”

“A wonderful relaxing place after a family wedding in Portugal. All generations from 4 weeks weeks old →
The villa is well situated for lots of wonderful experiences – as follows.
Great location for Sintra and Lisbon – Bus to Sintra easy + train to Lisbon takes you right to the centre.
Having enjoyed a family holiday in Portugal last year we were very happy to return and experience a different area. The location of the villa has proved favourable with all offering both delightful beach trips and city visits. The villa has proved very comfortable and the facilities excellent.
Walks to castles, delicious pastries, great coffee and some hospitable and welcoming locals have made this a fantastic (first) visit to Portugal. Perfect house for a amazing holiday!
With 14 of us the villa still provided a very spacious with a pace for all times of day, the description before we came was very good and the experience has exceeded it, not least because of Ralph’s hospitality and guidance.
Taxi from Sintra, 14 euros, very reasonable.”

“We had a very lovely relaxing week at Villa Santa Maria, The village has it all, We loved the market for all the fresh produce.
The hairdressers and massage rooms were excellent, We found people helpful and the prices so reasonable.
It is a very convenient place to commute to Lisbon and Sintra, We missed the little tram as we were told it doesn’t start until June.
Our only criticism were the footpaths along the busy road, a number of them need repair.
Thank you Ralph, for all your help it made everything very easy.”
